How to install the Android 11 Beta on the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T
A month ahead of schedule, OnePlus has started testing Android 11 for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T.
The firmware, which is in Open Beta, is available to download and install now. Keep in mind though that while this release will see Android 11 running on your OnePlus 6, it’s bound to be riddled with bugs, so it probably isn’t worth installing it just yet if it’s your primary device. You’ll also want to do a full backup before taking it for a spin in case things don’t go according to plan.
As this update is an Open Beta, it won’t arrive over-the-air — meaning you won’t get an alert prompting you to install the update. Instead, you’ll need to download the firmware from OnePlus, which you can do below, and follow the following steps to install it, which we’ve lifted from the OnePlus Forums. Again, though, remember this is beta software, so proceed with caution.

Installation the Android 11 Beta on the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T is actually rather easy. Just download the firmware on your handset using the respective link above, then head into Settings, select System, tap System Updates, select the top-right icon, tap Local Upgrade, click on the firmware you just downloaded, tap Upgrade, then when the installation is finished, click Restart.
