OnePlus 6/6T Wont Be Getting Android 11 Anytime Soon

OnePlus has confirmed that it won’t release the Android 11 (OxygenOS 11) Open Beta for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T until the end of August. This means, assuming there aren’t any significant errors found in the test build of the software, the final version should start rolling out sometime in Q4 2021 (October-December) — when Google is rumored to release Android 12.

What Will Android 11 Change on the OnePlus 6/6T?

Android 11 will bring a host of exciting design changes and new features to the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, including an improved layout for one-handed operation and an always-on display function, as well as a live wallpaper that changes to the time of day, a new OnePlus Sans font that improve readability and an optimized Dark Mode with a shortcut in Quick Settings.

  • New visual design (including Weather app, Launcher, Gallery, Notes)
  • New layout for more comfortable and convenient one-handed operation
  • Always-on display function, including 11 new clock styles
  • Live wallpaper that changes according to the time of day
  • New OnePlus Sans font that improves readability
  • Optimized Dark Mode, including the ability to automatically turn on and off and a shortcut in Quick Settings
  • 3 new Zen Mode themes, more timing options, and new Group feature to let you experience Zen Mode with your friends
  • New Gallery function that automatically creates a weekly story based on your photos and videos
