Several OnePlus owners have taken to the OnePlus Forums to report increased loading times for Android Auto after installing Android 11 (OxygenOS 11) on their device, which we can corroborate.
“Previously, my OnePlus 7T would connect and load up Android Auto almost immediately when plugged into the display in my 2017 VW Golf via USB,” writes one user in a new thread on April 24.
“Today the same process takes what seems like more than a minute. It doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it means that I can’t set up my playlist and navigation before I start driving anymore.”
The issue doesn’t appear to be isolated to a single device, with OnePlus 7, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus Nord users all reporting similar experiences. We also experienced it on our OnePlus 9 Pro.
It doesn’t appear to be hardware-related either, with another user noting they tried various different cables and made sure they were running the latest version of Android Auto, but to no avail.
